Gila & Pinal Counties, Arizona
Gila & Pinal Counties, Arizona
The CAG Region has been designated a federal Economic Development District (EDD) by U.S. Economic Development Administration since 1994. The EDD designation permits CAG to apply for funding that would otherwise not be available, including planning grants, technical assistance grants, public works project grants, and other funds as available.
CAG staff develops and maintains the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region. The CEDS plays an important role in the economic development efforts in Gila and Pinal counties, Arizona, helping to guide the CAG Region toward job creation and economic stability and diversification to improve the quality of life for residents and enhance the local and regional tax base. The process is overseen by a CEDS Committee, which is comprised of economic development professionals, private industry, and interested citizens who reside in the region.
Economic prosperity in the CAG Region is linked to our ability to prevent, withstand, and quickly recover from major disruptions to our economic base. Establishing economic resilience requires the ability to anticipate risk, evaluate how that risk can impact key economic assets, and build a responsive capacity.
