Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

The CAG Region was designated as a federal Economic Development District (EDD) by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration in 1994. The EDD designation permits CAG to apply for funding that would otherwise not be available, such as planning grants, technical assistance grants, public works project grants, project grants, or other funds as available.

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

CAG staff develops and maintains the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the region. The CEDS plays an important role in the economic development efforts in Gila and Pinal counties, helping to guide the CAG Region toward job creation, economic stability and diversification, to improve the overall quality of life for residents, and enhance the local and regional tax base. The process is overseen by a CEDS Committee, which is comprised of economic development professionals, private industry, and interested citizens who reside in the region.
